Kirtan Soul Revival (KSR) is NYC’s funkiest devotional mantra music experience. Since 2011 they have been fusing traditional Sanskrit mantras with original music to create a unique, dynamic sound that merges guitar-driven funk, rock, gospel, R&B, world grooves, and chants. Soul-stirring vocals and 3-part harmony add fullness and depth to their sound. Calia Marshall, Helen Styring Tocci & Todd Keller with drummer Terrence Pompey are all longtime yoga practitioners and musicians. They have created a singular sound in the growing genre of mantra music that brings the connecting power of harmony and a fusion of Eastern/Western sounds to a public craving more positivity, love and community in its music and life. KSR has led kirtans at many leading yoga centers including Integral, Jivamukti, and Kripalu. With many successful bi-coastal tours, they have played festivals such as BhaktiFest, Wanderlust, Philly Shakti Fest, Ahimsa and Berwick Yoga Festival. They have recorded with Krishna Das, The Hanumen, and Saul David Raye. The KSR experience invites participants to open their hearts to Spirit and to life!

Listening with Silence ~ Women’s Recovery Retreat: April 7-9, 2017
with Liz Leuthner
at The Alcyon Center, Seal Cove, ME
Fri 5 pm* – Sun 1 pm (2 nights; $100-$150 sliding scale – please ask! – to register, email: firstname.lastname@example.org)
“This is your chance to listen carefully.
Your whole life might depend on what you hear.”
~ Joyce Sutphen, from her poem “How to Listen“
Take a break this weekend and let the Silence speak, as we practice contemplative listening – with each other and the natural world – and speaking from the Heart.
This is not a silent retreat, but rather time spent practicing together in community. We will engage with a series of contemplative exercises rooted in Robert and Cheryl Sardello’s decades-long soul work that invite us into deep listening as spiritual practice. You do not need to identify as being “in recovery” to attend – the weekend is open to all who yearn to cultivate an inner life so that we may be of service in the world.
12-step practictioners might consider the weekend’s work an extension of 11th-step practices of prayer and meditation. This is an opportunity to enlarge the spiritual life through deep soul work with Silence and Heart. You do not need to identify as being “in recovery” to attend ~ the weekend is open to all who yearn to cultivate an inner life and build capacity to be of service in the world. There will also be time for rest and/or exploration of Seal Cove’s natural beauty.
**Arrive when you can** ~ we will have a casual light dinner and begin the short evening program around 7 pm. Cost: two nights in double room, $100-150 (total). Sliding scale: please inquire. Details and registration: www.alcyoncenter.org. Questions? Email Liz.
Liz Leuthner works with the recovery community in Portland, Maine, to explore spiritual practices as the solution to addiction. She is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher who lectures and teaches on the relationship between yoga and recovery.
